Outreach and Evangelism Ministry

Responsible for assisting others to come to know the love of Jesus through our community of faith.  Provide for the effective creation and support of external programs to connect to grow the disciples of Jesus Christ.  Some of the ministries and events include are listed below:

  • Easter on the Bridge – Easter on the Bridge is an annual “free” city-wide celebration for families that include various outside activities such as bounce houses, train ridges, Easter egg hunt, photos with the Easter Bunny, face painting, petting zoo, cake walk, carnival games, Dallas Police community outreach stations, live entertainment, prizes, food trucks and so much more. This event is held from 1 – 4pm at the Ron Kirk/Felix H Lozado Sr. Gateway Plaza in Dallas.
  • Project Unity
  • Together We Ball
  • Socks for Vets – This event gathers and distributes socks to veterans
  • Prison Fellowship “Angel Tree” – This event provides Christmas presents to children of incarcerated inmates.

Body and Soul Ministry

A 20 year-old ecumenical community homeless ministry that serves the homeless hot meals on the weekends at St. Paul United Methodist Church.  This ministry provides all volunteers with an opportunity to serve in an outreach ministry that advocates and publicly supports policies and issues that impact persons experiencing homelessness.  The partners include Highland Park Presbyterian Church, First United Methodist Church Richardson, Highland Park United Methodist Church, West Irving Church of God in Christ.  Volunteers provide Inspirational speakers; referrals to organizations that provide housing, employment, substance abuse and mental health counseling.  The two newest Body and Soul programs include:

    • “Room in the Inn” Program – A new initiative with the St. Paul United Methodist Women and MDHA (Metro Dallas Homeless Alliance) is the “Room in the Inn” program.  This initiative provides one-night of shelter in churches for homeless women to experience respite from the dangerous conditions that women experience on the streets.
    • Homeless Youth Initiative – A program designed to partner with the DISD (Dallas Independent School District) Drop-in Centers to support youth that are experiencing homelessness.
    • Prayer Ministry – It is our desire to actively encourage and promote a culture of prayer within the life of the church. Our hope is that the ministry of prayer is achieved every day in each of our lives. The prayer ministry:
      • Prays for the church community, individually and corporately.
      • Provides leadership in prayer for the church members, friends and family.
      • Provides leadership during church related special services and events.
      • The Men pray Monday – Friday at 7:30am over the phone.

Prayer Ministry

Actively encourages and promotes a culture of prayer within the life of the church. Our hope is that the ministry of prayer is achieved every day in each of our lives. The prayer ministry:

    • Prays for the church community, individually and corporately.
    • Provides leadership in prayer for the church members, friends and family.
    • Provides leadership during church related special services and events.
    • Plans and coordinates an Annual Prayer Walk at the City of Dallas.
    • The Men pray Monday – Friday at 7:30am over the phone.
